Earthquake Update
Jan 13, 2010
As many of you know, yesterday afternoon there was a major earthquake registering 7.0 that impacted Haiti. The Dominican Republic and Haiti share the island of Hispanola, and so many of our friends and family have sent us emails or called us to make sure that we are okay. We are in fact, fine, and at our house did not experience any tremors, though several of our neighbors on campus felt some major shakes. One of our friends here from California said that what they experienced felt like a 4.0 type of shake. They are just a 5 minute walk from our house, which makes me wonder why we didn't feel a thing (for which I am grateful!) Thank you for your thoughts, cares and concerns. Please pray for the country of Haiti and those that have been led there to serve.
